Joiner earned NAIA All-American honors at the 1994 national outdoor track meet by placing second in the marathon, in the 1995 indoor meet by finishing third in the 5,000-meter run, and at the 1994 indoor championships by placing fifth in the three-mile run...She also was honored as an NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete for cross country in 1993 and 1994, and in indoor and outdoor track in 1994 and '95...Joiner was named to the GTE CoSIDA Academic All-American third team in 1993 for cross country and second team in '95 for track...Joiner still holds indoor records in the mile; 3,000-meter; two-mile; three-mile; and 5,000-meter...She also is the school record holder for five outdoor track marks: 3,000-meter; 5,000-meter; 10,000-meter; half-marathon; and marathon.
