Trygve Johnson

Trygve ranks as the Red Raider baseball team's career leader in wins with a 31-15 record and innings pitched (262.6). He is second in school history in strikeouts (220) and sixth in ERA (3.05). In addition to pitching, Johnson played third and first base. The 1996 winner of the Vander Stoep Award as Northwestern's outstanding senior male student-athlete, he received NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors in both his junior and senior years. Trygve received Faculty Honors, the highest honor bestowed upon graduates by Northwestern's professors in 1996 and after graduating from Western Theological Seminary, he returned to Northwestern to serve as chaplain and assistant baseball coach from 1999-2002.
