A three-year letter winner in track, Jacob also holds the honors of NAIA Scholar-Athlete and a two time All-American. In his senior season he was a national champion in the 600 meter run (indoor) and the 400 meter run (outdoor). He was a member of the indoor and outdoor 4 x 400 relay teams that finished fourth at indoor nationals and sixth at outdoor nationals in 2001. Jacob is Northwestern's record holder in the indoor 400, 600 yard run, 600 meter run and 1600 meter relay along with the outdoor 400 and sprint medley.
