Strong Performances Highlight Day at Concordia Classic

SEWARD, Neb. – At the 2026 Concordia Classic, Northwestern athletes shone brightly, securing several top-five finishes. Emily De Groot led the charge with a standout victory in the 5K, clocking in at 18:35.56. Kenzie Harder impressed with a second-place finish in the long jump, reaching a school-record 5.99 meters.

Sprints
Kenzie Harder claimed third in the Women's 60 Meters Finals with a swift 7.76 seconds. In the 200 meters, Tierney Huss took seventh with a time of 25.92, while Emma Blum sprinted to a second-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 58.72.

Middle Distance
Macy Schroeder battled to a fifth-place finish in the 600 meters, crossing the line at 1:40.29. In the 1000 meters, Kiera Rogers completed the race in 13th place with a time of 3:17.44.

Distance
Emily De Groot dominated the 5000 meters, securing first with her time of 18:35.56.

Hurdles
Carly Dunn grabbed fourth in the finals of the 60m hurdles, finishing in 9.31 seconds.

Jumps
Aubrey DeGroot soared to victory in the high jump, clearing 1.61 meters. Teammate Addison Smith matched this height for a strong third-place finish. Kenzie Harder continued her excellent form with a second-place finish in the long jump, leaping 5.99 meters to break her own school record and move to second in the NAIA.

Throws
Mia Skippings marked a 10.07-meter throw in the shot put and reached 13.01 meters in the weight throw.

Pentathlon
Sara Thonvold earned sixth place in the Pentathlon with 2497 points, while Becca Hofmann finished 10th, accumulating 2002 points.

- High Jump — Aubrey DeGroot, 1.61 meters; Addison Smith, 1.61 meters 
- Long Jump — Kenzie Harder, 5.99 meters
