Three Top Finishers Lead Raiders in Yankton

YANKTON, S.D. – Northwestern women's track & field recorded several top-three finishes at the Mt. Marty Invite, held January 16 and 17.

Freshman Kenzie Harder continued her strong indoor season with a victory in the 60 meters, winning the event in 7.73. Harder also helped the Red Raiders to a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.

In the hurdles, Carly Dunn earned a runner-up finish in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking 9.25. The Red Raiders also saw success in the short sprints as Tierney Huss placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 26.07.

Middle-distance events produced multiple podium finishes for Northwestern. Maci Schmalbeck finished third in the 600 meters, while Macy Schroeder followed closely behind in fourth. In the 5000 meters, Kayden Spencer claimed first place with a time of 18:51.89.

Field events were a highlight for the Red Raiders, led by Aubrey DeGroot, who placed third in the high jump after clearing 1.61 meters. Northwestern dominated the triple jump, sweeping the top three spots as Kenna Gustafson earned first place, Avery Kallies finished second, and Arya Compton took third.

Relay success capped the meet as Northwestern posted a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay and a third-place showing in the 4x800-meter relay.
