Raiders Showcase Depth in Season Opener

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Northwestern College men's cross country team placed eighth at the Augustana Twilight on Friday, with freshman Caleb Tofteland leading the team with a 29th-place finish in the men's four-mile run, clocking an individual time of 19:37.62.

The Red Raiders secured an eighth-place finish with a total time of 1:41:34.00 and an average of 20:18.80. Tofteland's strong performance contributed 18 points to the team's score. Ben VanDeBerg and Isaiah Aragon also delivered noteworthy performances, finishing 71st and 76th with times of 20:13.27 and 20:17.66, respectively.

Dietrich Dirks crossed the finish line with a time of 20:53.00 in his first collegiate race, while Carson Van Sickle and Alik McIlravy finished closely together in 145th and 146th place, recording times of 20:55.31 and 20:55.36, respectively.

South Dakota State won the event with a perfect score of 15, led by Cody Larson's winning time of 18:00.10.
