Northwestern Runners Set for NAIA Cross Country Championships

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The 2025 NAIA Cross Country National Championship is set to take place on Friday, November 21, at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida. This event will feature standout athletes from Northwestern College, including Emily DeGroot, Caleb Tofteland, and Kayden Spencer, competing against top talent from across the nation.

The women's race will commence at 7:30 a.m. (CT), followed by the men's race at 8:30 a.m. (CT). Emily DeGroot is making her third appearance at the NAIA Championships. She previously finished 51st in 2022 and 119th in 2023 and secured her spot this year by placing 15th at the GPAC Championships. This year marks Caleb Tofteland's debut at the NAIA Championships in his freshman season. He earned his place by finishing seventh at the GPAC Championships. Meanwhile, Kayden Spencer will join the competition through an at-large bid, having placed 19th at the conference meet.

Spectators who cannot attend in person can still experience the event through free broadcasts available on the Urban Edge Network and the NAIA Network. Additionally, live results will be provided by PrimeTime Timing. Links to live coverage are available at the top of the story.
