Tofteland Secures Top-10 Finish at GPAC Championships

ASHLAND, Neb. – Northwestern's men's cross country team secured fourth place at the GPAC Championships on Saturday, with freshman Caleb Tofteland finishing seventh in the 8K race with a time of 25:05.1.

The Raiders secured a fourth-place finish in the overall standings with a combined time of 2:00:12.30, averaging 24:02.46 per runner. Tofteland led the charge by placing seventh in the men's 8K event, clocking in at 25:05.1 with an average mile time of 5:02.8. Senior Ben VanDeBerg also performed well, finishing 16th with a final time of 25:31.6 and an average mile pace of 5:08.1. Sophomore Alik McIlravy followed in 31st place, completing the race in 26:41.1.

Freshman Emmett Barber closely trailed McIlravy, finishing 32nd with a time of 26:41.5. Additional contributions came from freshman Dietrich Dirks, who ended in 39th place with a time of 27:04.6, and sophomore Jake Huston, who was 42nd with a 27:09.8 finish. Junior Ashton Hughes rounded out the top performances for the Red Raiders, finishing 49th with a time of 27:42.3.
