Raiders Gain Experience Against Top Competition

ST. PAUL, Minn. – In one of the largest meets in the Midwest, spanning nearly all divisions, Northwestern finished 22^nd of 25 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational. Northwestern was the lone NAIA team to run at the event.

The Raiders were led by Ben VanDeBerg, who finished 131^stwith a mark of 28:39.0 in his first time at the Griak. Trey Engelmann, in his third appearance in the meet, posted his second-best time at 29:50.8. Freshmen Alik McIlravy, Isaiah Aragon, Carson Van Sickle, and Jake Huston all were scoring members in their first collegiate 8K.

Northwestern averaged a time of 29:23.7 with a spread of 1:18.7. Eleven Red Raider athletes competed in the race.

Northwest Missouri State won the team event, while Augustana's Ryan Hartman was the top finisher with a time of 25:16.1
