Red Raiders Record Multiple Top-10 Finishes at SDSU Indoor Classic

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Northwestern women's track & field competed against a deep field at the SDSU Indoor Classic on Feb. 13–14, recording multiple NAIA-ranked performances and top-10 finishes.

Kenzie Harder continued her strong indoor campaign with a fifth-place finish in the 200 meters, clocking an oversized track school record of 24.86 to move to No. 21 in the NAIA. Tierney Huss added an eighth-place finish in the 200m (25.11) and recorded a season-best 7.84 in the 60 meters.

In the hurdles, Carly Dunn posted a time of 9.34 in the 60-meter hurdles, competing in one of the meet's deepest fields. Sara Thonvold (9.78) and Payton Kleinhesselink (9.86) also delivered strong section performances.

Emma Blum highlighted the middle-distance group, finishing seventh in the 600 meters with a time of 1:37.89, ranking No. 38 in the NAIA. In the 800 meters, Brooklyn Fryar (2:24.45) and Mya Romero (2:24.98) both turned in season-best efforts.

The Red Raiders' relay units were among the meet's top performers. The Distance Medley Relay team of Emily De Groot, Macy Schroeder, Brielle Engelmann, and Kayden Spencer placed second in 12:39.86. The 4x800-meter relay squad of Macy Schroeder, Ashlyn Hough, Emily De Groot, and Brielle Engelmann also finished runner-up in 9:34.55.

In the field events, freshman Addison Smith cleared 1.63 meters in the high jump, finishing third overall. Junior Aubrey DeGroot added a seventh-place finish in the high jump (1.58m), while Karli Swart placed eighth (1.53m).
