Darnold’s Three Goals Lead to GPAC Award

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern sophomore forward Drew Darnold has been voted as the GPAC Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports.

Darnold scored three goals on the week, netting one in a 3-0 win over Waldorf and two in Northwestern's 4-1 win over Jamestown.

The sophomore has scored in three consecutive matches and currently sits tied for third in the GPAC with six goals.

"Drew is finding his form and had a really good couple of matches last week," commented head coach Dan Swier. "We love it when our strikers find a way to get on the end of plays in the box, and that's how he scored two of his three goals."

Northwestern is back at home this week, facing Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday and Mount Marty on Saturday.
