Despite several attempts, including blocked and off-target shots from the Raiders, both sides ended the period scoreless.

The overtime period between the Raiders and Mount Marty began with both teams striving to break the scoreless deadlock. Northwestern's Drew Darnold came close in the 92nd minute, hitting the crossbar off a volley, the Raider's third shot that hit the crossbar. The Raiders continued to press, with attempts from Giulio Palombo and Diego Quintero both narrowly missing the mark. Despite several opportunities, the period ended with neither team able to score.

In the second overtime period, Northwestern applied early pressure with Jannes Kuehn taking two blocked shots in quick succession at the 101st minute. Diego Quintero's corner kick at the 105th minute continued the offensive push, but Drew Darnold's attempt was saved by Mount Marty's goalkeeper. After no one scored in the second overtime period, the match would be decided on penalty kicks.
