Caleb Tofteland and volleyball student-athlete
Aubrey De Groot as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of September 22nd.
MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Caleb Tofteland, Men's Cross Country
- Tofteland (Fr., Wichita, Kan.) finished 9th place at the Roy Griak Invitational, racing against NCAA opponents.
- The freshman would have the best Raider finish at the invite since Northwestern Hall of Famer Will Norris placed 15th in 2016.
- Tofteland helped the Raiders to an 11th place finish out of 21 teams.
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Aubrey De Groot, Volleyball
- De Groot (Jr., Orange City, Iowa) had a week of career-highs as she totaled 35 kills and 24 blocks over four games.
- The junior would start her week on Wednesday with a career-high 11 kills in a 3-2 win over Morningside.
- De Groot found her defensive groove on Saturday, notching a career-high 12 blocks in the 3-2 win over Park (Mo.).
