Northwestern Teams Earn NAIA Academic Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – As part of the NAIA's National Awards Day, all 21 NAIA-affiliated Northwestern sports received NAIA Scholar Team honors, the national office announced this week.

Northwestern was led by women's basketball, who compiled a 3.72 GPA in 2024-25. The highest GPA among men's programs belonged to men's golf with a 3.46. As a department, Northwestern held a department GPA of 3.42.

To be recognized as an NAIA Scholar Team, teams must meet the following criteria: hold a minimum varsity team GPA of 3.0, include every varsity athlete listed on the eligibility certificate, and using grades from both the fall and spring semesters in the calculation of the team's GPA.

NAIA National Awards Day recognizes the newest NAIA Hall of Fame inductees, as well as 18 individual and team awards. A full list of NAIA Scholar Teams can be found at the link in the story.
