The Northwestern College women's soccer team came up short in its spring season debut, falling to Clarke University 1-0 in a match played today in Dubuque, Iowa.
Northwestern out-shot the Pride 13-6, including a 7-5 shots on-goal advantage, but could not place one in the back of net for new head coach

Scoreless at the half, Clarke netted the game-winner during the 52nd minute on a goal by Reese Castanon. Brynlee Ward (70 minutes) and Abigail Kukuck (20 minutes) combined for the shutout for the Pride.
Kaelin Alons recorded four saves for the Raiders;
Josie Maasdam totaled two shots on goal and
Abby Noonan had three shots, one on goal. Northwestern is now 5-8-1 this season.
