Shannon Andringa

Shannon Andringa joined Northwestern women's soccer as the head coach in February of 2021. In July 2021, Andringa stepped into the role of Northwestern's Champions of Character liaison.

"I chose to coach at Northwestern because of the opportunity to use the game of soccer to build Christ's kingdom on this side of eternity," said Andringa. "Northwestern is a place that allows me to combine my love for coaching soccer with my mission of making disciples and investing in the next generation of women."

Prior to taking over the Northwestern soccer program, Andringa coached at East Grand Rapids High School from 2018 to 2021, and Unity Christian High School in 2017. While coaching at those respective high schools Andringa also coached with the Michigan Futbol Academy from 2017 through 2021 and the ABK Futsal Academy from 2018 to 2021.

Before her coaching career Andringa played for Spring Arbor University from 2012 to 2016. While playing she was part of a NAIA National Championship team in 2015 and two NAIA Final Four finishes. Her team's also compiled four conference tournament and four regular season championships. Andringa receive All-American honors in 2015, all-conference honors twice, and academic all-conference twice. Andringa received a Bachelors degree from Spring Arbor University in Marketing (2016).

Her favorite verse is Isaiah 43:16 - Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. "I love this verse because it displays God's ability to make a way when there seems to be none," said Andringa. "He has given us new life and is able to do immeasurably more than we can fathom."

"If I'm not on the soccer field, you can find me outside on an adventure, chasing waterfalls, or eating Mexican food," said Andringa.

Shannon is married to her husband, Ryan. The Andringas welcomed baby Jace to the world in June of 2022.
