ANKENY, Iowa – The Northwestern College men's golf team placed second as a team at the Grand View Invitational Monday, October 18 and Tuesday, October 19 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, Iowa. Junior
Brock Murphy (Tea, S.D./Tea Area) finished second individually, the highest individual placing of any Raider golfer at a tournament this season.
The tournament saw both the team lowest round of the season of 279 (Round 2) and the lowest individual round by Murphy (67, -4), also in the second round.
Trenton De Haan (Jr., Orange City, Iowa/MOC-Floyd Valley) was the only other Raider to shoot a round under 70 with a -2 (69) in today's second round. He would finish the tournament with a 145, a tie for 15
th place, with two other Raiders.
Jackson Laven (Fr., Okoboji, Iowa/Spirit Lake) and
Alex Snyder (Sr., Alta, Iowa/Alta-Aurelia) also tied with De Haan, shooting a two-day score of 145.
Seven of the nine competing Northwestern golfers finished within the top-15 in a field of nearly 70 golfers. Otter Creek Golf Course was a Par 71 course.
Junior
Ezra Meyer (Spencer, Iowa/Spencer) notched two eagles on the first day of the tournament, propelling him -2 (69) first round score. He carded a par (71) today to allow him to finish -2 on the tournament in a tie for fifth place.
