Smith Garners GPAC Award Following Tournament Win

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern sophomore men's golfer Evan Smith was selected as GPAC Men's Golfer of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports, for his winning performance at the Doane Spring Invite.

Smith tied Northwestern's individual strokes record for single-round low, shooting a 65 in the second round of the Doane Spring Invite. He won the 107-player field for his second career tournament win, finishing five under in the event. As a team, Northwestern joined Smith's record by tying the team single-round low with a score of 274 in the second round.

He is the fourth Raider to earn weekly honors this season, joining Trey Van Roekel, Ray Greller, and Qwenton Caldwell. It is the second consecutive week that Northwestern has received a GPAC Men's Golfer of the Week.

The Raiders will next compete at Briar Cliff Spring Match Play on March 29-30.
