Trey Engelmann (
Storm Lake, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his cross country and track and field career at Northwestern College this fall.
Engelmann is multi-sports standout who completed his fourth season running for the Alta-Aurelia cross country team last fall. Engelmann won the Twin Lakes Conference individual championship in cross country and was the first boy's runner from Alta-Aurelia to qualify for the state meet in six years. He has a personal best 5K time of 16:45.

"Trey is an awesome young man and we are thrilled that he is joining our men's cross country and track and field teams," commented Northwestern Head Coach
Scott Bahrke. "He always gives 100% effort, is very coachable and wants to invest in his teammates. Trey is a talented runner who will continue to improve during his four years at Northwestern."
Also an all-district selection in track and field, Engelmann has personal bests of 56 second in the 400m, 2:06 in the 800m, 4:52 in the mile and 10:40 in the 3200m. He is also a four-year letter winner in baseball and basketball at Alta-Aurelia. Engelmann is an honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society. He plans to study Ag-Business at Northwestern and is the son of Bryant and Jill.
"I chose to attend Northwestern because the campus felt like home," stated Engelmann. "The coaches and teammates were outstanding and I think Northwestern will be a great fit."
