About Missouri Baptist... Located in St. Louis, Mo., the Spartans are members of nine-team American Midwest Conference (AMC) where they finished sixth in the 2019 regular season with a 5-5-1 record. They fell to Park (Mo.) in the AMC quarterfinals to end last year at 10-7-2 but had won seven straight games early in the 2019 season. Columbia (Mo.) won the conference title, followed by Lyon (Ark.), Park, Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) and Williams Baptist.Â
Jake Alverina returns for his ninth season as the head of the Spartans men's soccer program and owns a 61-73-14 overall record. A former letterwinner for the Spartans (1995-96), Alverina returns eight starters and 19 players from last season.Â

Head Coach
Dan Swier begins his 13th season as the head of the men's soccer program at Northwestern and brings over 40 players into the 2020 season. Swier owns most wins (114), best win percentage (54%) in program history and has guided Raider teams to the postseason nine consecutive years.Â
The Raiders finished the 2019 season in fifth place in the GPAC with a 6-5 record, 9-10 overall, losing to Briar Cliff in the conference quarterfinals 3-2. Six starters and eight letter winners are back from last year's squad but Swier needs to account for the loss of
Ben Hengst (All-Conference) and
Anselmo Kim (All-Conference, #4 in career goals scored and #2 in career assists).
