High School: combined to earn eight letters running for the South Hardin, Eldora High School cross country and track and field teams; qualified for the state cross country meet and earned all-conference honors his junior year; school record holder in the 5K; won the class 2A state championship in the 1600m as a senior; finished 12th in the 3200m; qualified for state in both the 1600m and 3200m races as a junior, finishing fourth and earned all-state honors in the 1600m; school record holder in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m races.
Academic: Sports Management major; Business minor. Personal: son of Don and Connie; brother to Sarah, Jonathan, Lydia and Esther; also a letterwinner and 8x All-American for the Red Raider track and field team.
