Thompson Sets School Record as Northwestern Opens Season in Sioux County

ORANGE CITY/SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Northwestern finished sixth with a two-round total of 659 at the Siouxland Women's Invite, led by Anna Brant's tie for ninth at 157. The two-day event was held at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City and at The Ridge in Sioux Center.

The Raiders opened the first day with a record-setting showing from Brooke Thompson, who shot a 74 in the first 18 to break the school single-round record and sit in first. Brant was not far behind, shooting an 81 in the first round before improving her score to 76 on the second day.

Brant was the Red Raiders' top finisher, tying for ninth at 157 (+13) with rounds of 81 and 76. Brooke Thompson tied for 16th at 160 (+16), including her opening-round 74, while Avery Arvig placed 41st at 171 (+27) and Mariah Gerleman finished 42nd at 172 (+28).
