Raiders Claim Team and Individual Wins at Mid-South Classic

NEWTON, Kan. – Northwestern College won its season opener at the Mid-South Classic with a final team score of 845 (-19), led by Axton Miller's first-place finish at 206 (-10).

The Red Raiders posted rounds of 280, 290 and 275 at Sand Creek Station, reaching the program's lowest single round to par (-13).

Miller placed first individually at 206 (-10), with rounds of 65 (-7), 75 (+3) and 66 (-6). Nate Carlson finished second at 207 (-9), closing the first two rounds in first place in his first collegiate event. Evan Smith tied for seventh at 213 (-3), and Ray Greller tied for 22nd at 219 (+3) to round out the scorers.

Miller closed with a 66 (-6) after opening with a 65 (-7). Carlson's second-place finish at 207 (-9) was highlighted by a 67 (-5) in the second round. Smith tied for seventh at 213 (-3) with scores of 69 (-3) in the first and third rounds.
