American State Bank Raider Athletes of the Week

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has named baseball student-athlete Ranier Castillo and softball student-athlete Ava Gross as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of April 13th.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ranier Castillo, Baseball

Castillo (Jr., Katy, Texas) batted .648 for the Raiders with at least two hits in each of the four contests this week.
The junior went 2/3 and 3/4 against Mount Marty, adding an RBI and a double in each contest.
Castillo had four putouts and five assists with just one error on the week at second base.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ava Gross, Softball

Gross (Fr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) dominated at the plate over the week batting .648 with 10 RBIs and no strikeouts.
The freshman went 7/7 at the plate against Briar Cliff with four doubles, a grand slam, and tied the program record for RBIs in a single game with eight.
Gross picked up two more hits, including a double, and her 10th RBI of the week against Concordia.
