Cheer Searches for Third-Straight GPAC Title

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The 2026 GPAC Cheer Championships are set to take place on Friday, March 6, at the Bultman Center on the campus of Northwestern College. This event will feature the eight competitive cheer teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), each vying for top honors in this annual showcase of athleticism and spirit.

The event will kick off with preliminary rounds starting at 3:00 PM. The schedule is as follows:
- 3:00 PM Concordia Cheer
- 3:10 PM Doane Cheer
- 3:20 PM Northwestern Cheer
- 3:30 PM Hastings Cheer
- 3:40 PM Midland Cheer
- 3:50 PM Mount Marty Cheer
- 4:00 PM Waldorf Cheer
- 4:10 PM Dordt Cheer

Following a brief judges' break, the finals will begin at 5:20 PM, with teams performing in reverse order of their preliminary rankings.

Northwestern College, the host team, is looking to secure their third consecutive GPAC title. The Raiders are currently ranked ninth in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) with an impressive average score of 87.06. They lead the GPAC rankings, closely followed by Midland and Doane, who are ranked 20th and 22nd in the NAIA, respectively.

For those unable to attend in person, the GPAC Network will offer a free livestream of the event. Tickets for those attending are priced at $10 for adults and $3 for K-College students. All GPAC students (home and away) can attend for free with a valid ID. Please note that NAIA passes will be accepted, but season passes are not, and all GPAC faculty and staff are required to pay admission.
