Cheer Heads Back to NAIA Championships This Weekend

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The 2026 NAIA Cheer Championships are set to take place on March 27-28 at the Stormont Vail Events Center in Topeka, Kansas. This prestigious event will feature Northwestern College's competitive cheer team, alongside 14 other national qualifying teams.

Northwestern secured its place as an automatic qualifier by winning the GPAC Championships in early March. The Raiders have shown consistent performance in recent years, having placed sixth at the NAIA Championships for the past two seasons. This year, they enter the competition with a season average score of 87.06, ranking ninth in the NAIA.

The championships will commence with preliminary rounds on March 27 at 4:00 p.m., where Northwestern is scheduled to perform at 5:20 p.m. The finals will follow the next day, March 28, at 10:00 a.m., with teams performing in reverse order based on their standings from the preliminaries.

For those unable to attend in person, the event will be available for viewing via a free livestream on the Urban Edge Network, ensuring fans and supporters can tune in to watch the action unfold from anywhere.

A schedule of events and link to the livestream can be found at the top of the story.
