Guidry’s Efficient Opening Weekend Earns NAIA Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northwestern baseball first baseman/designated hitter Grant Guidry has been selected as the NAIA Player of the Week.

Guidry is the first Red Raider since Colton Harold on April 6, 2021, to receive an NAIA weekly award.

A sophomore from Yantis, Texas, Guidry led the Raider offense with an .818 average, three home runs, and nine RBIs in Northwestern's series win at McPherson. In Saturday's 19-6 win, he tied the school's single-game record with seven RBIs on a 4-for-5 outing, hitting two home runs.

The Raiders will head to Joplin, Missouri this weekend for a set of neutral-site games, facing Mission (Mo.), Graceland (Iowa), and College of the Ozarks (Mo.).
