Van Roekel Tabbed as GPAC Golfer of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern sophomore men's golfer Trey Van Roekel was selected as GPAC Men's Golfer of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports, for his performance the week of September 21.

Van Roekel led the way for the Raiders with a top-15 individual finish in a field of national contenders at the Northwest Iowa Invitational, posting the best round of his career and of the Raiders' season (67; -4). He made it through the third round at -4 with no bogeys.

"Trey has been solid for us this fall. Week in and week out he has continued to be a top performer in tournament play," commented head coach Jonathan Beaver. "His dedication and determination have been paying off. Trey has been resilient and has handled adversity well so far this season. It was only a matter of time before this was type of round happened."

The Raiders will next compete at the Kirkwood Invite on October 13-14 in Amana, Iowa.
