ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has named men's basketball student-athlete Alex Van Kalsbeek and softball student-athlete Chloe Gallegos as the Raider Athletes of the Week, presented by American State Bank, for their performances during the week of March 17th.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Alex Van Kalsbeek, Men's Basketball

• Van Kalsbeek (Sr., Orange City, Iowa) returned from injury to help his team to the NAIA Sweet 16 averaging 22 points, 73% shooting, and 3.5 rebounds per game.
• The senior dominated in his first game back, leading the team in scoring with 27 points against Graceland in Round 1.
• In Round 2, Van Kalsbeek once again led the team in scoring with 17 points and added four rebounds.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Chloe Gallegos, Softball

• Gallegos (Sr., Carroll, Iowa) hit .600 last week including her second HR of the season and a game winning RBI.
• The senior had a great first game against Hastings batting 3-4 with a homerun and two RBIs.
• Gallegos would win it for the Raiders in the second game with the go-ahead RBI to win a 5-3 matchup.
