DeGroot Earns All-Conference Nod, Spencer Top 20 in GPAC Race

ASHLAND, Neb. – Northwestern's cross country teams competed at the GPAC Championships on Saturday at Mahoney State Park, with the women's team finishing sixth, highlighted by Emily De Groot's 15th-place individual finish in the women's 6K.

"The Raiders raced great today," said head coach Scott Bahrke. "They showed a lot of grit throughout the course. It was fun to see some PRs and have some all-conference honors!"

De Groot led Northwestern, securing a 15th place finish with a final time of 22:52.4 and an average mile pace of 6:08.1. Her performance earned 12 points for the team and an all-conference selection. Kayden Spencer followed closely, placing 19th while clocking in at 23:09.8 and averaging a 6:12.8 mile, contributing 16 points. Allie Hough added to the team's score by finishing 39th with a time of 24:31.1, with an average mile pace of 6:34.6.

Overall, the Red Raiders' women's team placed sixth with a total time of 2:00:12.30, averaging 24:02.46 per runner and accumulating 146 points. Macy Schroeder and Brielle Engelmann completed the top five scorers for the team, finishing 44th and 46th respectively, with times of 24:46.7 and 24:52.3.
