Northwestern opened the match against the Chargers with a strong start, taking an early 3-0 lead.
Stella Winterfeld contributed with three kills, while
Liv Reitsma facilitated the offense with multiple assists. Briar Cliff managed to keep the score close initially, narrowing the deficit to 6-5. However, the Raiders' momentum surged with a series of attack errors by the Chargers and timely aces by
Nyah Potthoff, extending the lead to 19-9. Despite a late rally by the Chargers, the Red Raiders secured the set 25-13, capitalizing on a service error from their opponents.
