ORANGE CITY, Iowa - Northwestern dominates once again at home as they take down Briar Cliff in straight sets, 3-0, winning by 10+ points in each set.

How It Happened

Northwestern opened the match against the Chargers with a strong start, taking an early 3-0 lead. Stella Winterfeld contributed with three kills, while Liv Reitsma facilitated the offense with multiple assists. Briar Cliff managed to keep the score close initially, narrowing the deficit to 6-5. However, the Raiders' momentum surged with a series of attack errors by the Chargers and timely aces by Nyah Potthoff, extending the lead to 19-9. Despite a late rally by the Chargers, the Red Raiders secured the set 25-13, capitalizing on a service error from their opponents.

The Raiders dominated the second set, capitalizing on early attack errors, helping Northwestern jump to a 6-1 lead. A service ace by Potthoff pushed the score to 7-1, prompting a Chargers timeout. Northwestern maintained the momentum with Winterfeld and Sidney Oostra contributing key kills to extend their lead to 15-2. The Chargers attempted a comeback with consecutive service aces, narrowing the gap to 16-6. However, the Raiders quickly regained control, and a final kill by Winterfeld sealed the set at 25-12.

The Raiders capitalized on several offensive and defensive plays to secure a 25-15 victory over the Chargers in the third set. Winterfeld led the charge with multiple kills, including decisive points at 8-5 and 23-15. The home team pulled ahead with a strong run, highlighted by a service ace and a series of attack errors by Briar Cliff, stretching the lead to 12-6. Despite a brief surge from the Chargers, the Raiders maintained control, closing the set with a kill by Alexa Trover, assisted by Jewel Bergstrom.
