Schany’s Double-Doubles Lead to GPAC Award

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern women's basketball forward Molly Schany has been selected as this week's GPAC Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports.

"This is a much deserved recognition for Molly after a great weekend on the offensive end," head coach Kristin Rotert said. "She was highly productive scoring the ball and helping anchor our offense."

Schany, a senior from Emmetsburg, Iowa) had a pair of double-doubles in Northwestern's 1-1 week in the Pizza Ranch Classic. In Friday's win over College of the Ozarks, Schany had 28 points and 13 rebounds on 12 made field goals. On Saturday against No. 17-ranked Grand View, she led the team with 28 points and 11 boards, also going 7-for-8 from the stripe.

Schany currently leads the conference in scoring at 25.8 points per game.

The Raiders open up GPAC play on Saturday, traveling to Mount Marty for a 5:00 p.m. tip.
