Raiders Pack Together to Take Second in Yankton

YANKTON, S.D. – In the regular season finale ahead of the GPAC Championships, the Northwestern men's cross country team took on a Thursday afternoon challenge, placing second at the Mount Marty Invite.

The Raiders ran together well, putting five athletes between 11^th and 16^th place. Northwestern's top five runners were separated by a mere 39 seconds, while the top seven had a 95-second spread. Ben VanDeBerg, Alik McIlravy, Isaiah Aragon, and Parker Engel each placed in the top 15, with Engel running just a second behind his PR mark. Ashton Hughes also finished 22^nd, his first career top-25 finish.

Mount Marty's Logan Ferrari placed first individually with a time of 25:16.48, while Black Hills State (S.D.) won the team title with 31 points.
