Raiders PR in 6K at Wayne State Classic

Haley finishes fifth in field

WAYNE, Neb. – The Raider cross country team returned to the starting line after a week off, this time to face a longer distance. The NAIA National championship has now moved from a 5k race distance to a 6k, which has caused most races to now move to that longer distance to better prepare for. Returners Emma Haley, Julia Fehr, and Abby Ervin would all see PRs from their previous times over the longer distance.

Haley would lead the Raiders for the first time in her career, cutting off a full minute off of her 6k time from the Griak invite last year. Second for the raiders, Fehr, would take off nearly 15 seconds from her previous time, and Ervin would follow Haley in taking off a full minute as well. Brielle Engelmann would finish in third for the Raiders, just in front of Ervin. Megan Bosch would jump up the rankings and finish in 5^th for the Raiders, just ahead of Allie Hough in 6^th, and Lili Nelson in 7^th.

"The ladies have put in the work these last two weeks and it really showed," said Scott Bahrke. "They are embracing the challenge of the longer distances and continuing to grow together as a team and push each other as much as they can."
