Dr. Taylor Dreise Added as Raider Sports Medicine Team Physician

Dreise is a former Red Raider student-athlete and athletic trainer

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College Athletics and Orange City Area Health System (OCAHS) have announced that Dr. Taylor Dreise, DO will join the Raider Sports Medicine team, serving as a team physician for Red Raider Athletics along with Dr. Mark Muilenburg, MD who has served as an NWC team physician for 31 years.

"We are excited to add Dr. Dreise as a team doctor for the Red Raiders. He is a Red Raider, having competed and worked here," said Vice President for Athletics Dr. Micah Parker. "Our partnership with Orange City Area Health System is critical to the success of our more than 20 athletic programs and over 530 student-athletes. Having Dr. Muilenburg and Dr. Dreise support our sports medicine staff will help us continue to honor Christ through excellence in athletics."

Dreise, a native of Orange City, is a former Red Raider multi-sport student-athlete in football and basketball. He graduated in 2013 with a degree in Athletic Training. He's a 2019 graduate of Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.Dr. Taylor Dreise_2022

"I've been where (NWC athletes & athletic training staff) have been. I've seen Northwestern grow and change since being a student-athlete and working here," said Dr. Dreise. "I'm looking forward to working with Northwestern Athletics again in this new capacity!"

He will be joining OCAHS' Family Medicine team, along with the health system's medical clinics, critical access hospital, and emergency medicine group upon completing his family medicine residency in Des Moines.

"Having two physicians on staff to see our student-athletes will be super helpful," noted Director of Athletic Training Seth Wolles. "The OCAHS staff does an excellent job of working our student-athletes into the physicians schedules in a timely manner so that we can treat the injuries and get them back to competition."

Dr. Dreise joins the team of Dr. Muilenburg and NWC's orthopedic surgeon Dr. Joshua Locker, MD as Northwestern continues their strong partnership with OCAHS to support Red Raider student-athletes.
