DES MOINES, Iowa – Northwestern College men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Des Moines to compete at Drake Relays on April 29 and 30.
 
Lorenzo Jones took home 10^th place in the triple jump, he set a new school record with his jump of 15.05m. With that jump Jones hit the automatic qualifying mark for the NAIA Outdoor Championships and he was the highest placing NAIA athlete in that event. 

The Raider men saw their relays run their best times this season while earning top 10 finishes. The Raider women earned a top 10 finish in the 4x100 relay.

Highlights

• Jones jumped a career best 15.05m to a 10^th place finish.
• The men's 4x100m Relay ran a season best 41.75 to earn 7^th place. They hit the provisional mark. Members of this relay were James Gilbert Jr., Cody Post, Braden Jahn, and Kyler Vander Velde.
• The Distance Medley also ran a season best time of 10:32.85 to a 4^th place finish. Relay members were Isaiah Lee, Trey Engelmann, Peyton Brasser, and Ian Wiersman.
• The women's 4x100 Relay took home 8^th place with a time of 68.02. Relay members were Natalie Lausen, Abby Petersen, Caitlin Ostbye, and Lizzy Blum.
