BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Northwestern College men's track and field team competed at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Indoor Championships, highlighted by a second-place and All-American finish by
James Gilbert Jr..
Gilbert (Jr., Orlando, Fla./Edgewater) entered the NAIA Indoor Championships with a season-best jump of 7.44. The junior left shattering his career-record and a silver medal with his 7.61m, second-place leap. He is now a three-time All-American in the long jump for the Raiders. Not only did he bring in All-American honors, Gilbert also broke his indoor school record set a season ago at Concordia.
Lorenzo Jones (Jr., Orlando, Fla./Edgewater) also competed in a field event for the Raiders in the triple jump. He took home 14
th with a leap of 14.23m.
On the track side,
Isaiah Lee (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D./Roosevelt) represented the Raiders in the 1000m run. He ran a time of 2:32.16 in a talented pool of athletes.
