VERMILLION, S.D. — The Red Raiders indoor track team placed six men in the top-10 at the South Dakota Invite today. Lorenzo Jones (So., Orlando, Fla./Edgewater) notched a team-best second-place finish in the triple jump.

Jacob Davies (So., Brandon, Wis./Laconia), Trey Engelmann (Fr., Storm Lake, Iowa/Alta-Aurelia), Grant Palmer (Fr.), and Wyatt Pryor (So., Woodbine, Iowa/Woodbine) combined for a 3:33.96 in the 4x400-meter relay to take a fourth-place finish in a competitive field.

"It was good for our team to face some bigger schools and tough competition. The efforts were there for most of our Raiders. Times and distances maybe were not what everyone was hoping for, but we battled in our events. The throwers had a good day with 3 of our men hitting indoor personal bests," said head coach Scott Bahrke. "Our men's distance crew also raced well, with 3 men setting PRs in the mile. Our men totaled 9 PRs for the meet. Isaiah Lee had a nice double, scoring in the top 10 in both the 800 and mile. He is running really well as a senior which is fun to see."

The men's team placed top-10 in three other events: the 400m dash, the 800m dash, and the mile run.

"Lorenzo Jones looked good in the triple jump and it was good to see him jump with the NCAA DI competition and finish runner-up," said Bahrke. "He is excited about our upcoming competitions and continuing to jump farther.

Up Next: The Raiders will compete next week in Brookings, S.D. at the SDSU Indoor Invite as a final tune-up before the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Indoor Championships on February 18 and 19.
