BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Northwestern College men's track and field team qualified another athlete for the 2022 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Indoor Championships as senior
Isaiah Lee picked up the automatic mark in the 1000m run at the South Dakota State (SDSU) Indoor Classic.
Lee (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D./Roosevelt) notched a third-place finish in the 1000m run, the second highest-placing NAIA athlete, with a mark of 2:29.54. As of Saturday night, the time sits 16
th best in the NAIA this season.
Lorenzo Jones (Jr., Orlando, Fla./Edgewater) 14.38 mark in the triple jump alone hit the NAIA automatic mark to the indoor championships. His leap of 14.50 at the Dordt Indoor Open still marks his best of the season and ranks ninth nationally.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Lorenzo Jones had the highest finish of any Raider at the SDSU Indoor Classic with a second-place finish in the triple jump (14.38m).
- Isaiah Lee notched his automatic mark in the 1000m (2:29.54) with a third-place finish.
- The 4x400m relay squad placed sixth (3:22.74) featuring Mitchell Oostra, Trey Engelmann, Wyatt Pryor, and Bryce Paulsen.
- Two Raiders placed in the top-10 in the 600m – Engelmann (8th, 1:23.56) and Pryor (1:23.94).
