Braden Kalvelage (Hastings, Neb.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwestern College in the fall.

Kalvelage has played two years for the Hastings Senior High School baseball team heading into his senior season this spring. Kalvelage hit .446 as a sophomore, accumulating 29 hits, four doubles and nine stolen bases. He earned academic all-conference in both baseball and football and was named to the honor roll. Kalvelage plans to study Biology / Health Professions at Northwestern and is the son of Tim and Jennifer.

"We are fired up to add Braden to our signing class," commented Northwestern head coach Brian Wede. "He is a very athletic player who can really make a difference on a team with his speed. Also a quality hitter and defender, we think Braden can come here and make us better immediately. We are looking forward to watching him develop and grow as both a baseball player and young man."
