Jackson Laven (Okoboji, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his golf career at Northwestern beginning in the fall of 2021.

Laven has played three years for the Spirit Lake High School golf team heading into his final season this spring. Laven placed eighth as an individual at the 2019 state tournament where he helped lead his to a runner-up finish. He earned second team all-state accolades and is a two-time all-conference selection. Laven has a personal best of 71.

"We are very excited to add Jack as the first member of our 2021 recruiting class," said Northwestern Head Coach Aaron Aberson. "Jack works hard on his game and is an outstanding teammate-two attributes we love in our program. He has been improving quickly and we would expect that to continue during his four years at Northwestern."

Laven is a member of both the honor roll and National Honor Society. He plans to study elementary education at Northwestern and is the son of Peter and Sara.
