Northwestern College dropped a pair of games to (RV) Grand View this afternoon, 10-2 (5) and 12-4 (6). The Red Raiders fall to 9-13 on the season while Grand View improves to 22-5 and pushes its win streak to 12 games.
Red Raider bats were held to just three hits in game one, an RBI double by
Jennifer Boeve and singles by
Emily Bosch and
Madison Beaver. Northwestern scored both runs in the third when
Bri Giordano led off with a walk, advanced to second on a sac. bunt by
Hailey Louw and scored after Boeve's double. Bosch added an RBI single later that scored Boeve.
Emma Schnell (5-8) took the loss, giving up nine hits and six runs in four innings. The sophomore struck out three and walked two.Â
The Vikings plated three runs in the bottom of the first and never trailed. They added a run in the second on a solo home run by Lexi Merritt and put two more runs across in the fourth for a 6-2 lead. Grand View ended the game with a four-run fifth, capped with an RBI single by Abby Sutten. Merritt and Sutten totaled three hits each to pace the Vikings 14-hit attack.Â
Game two went in the Vikings favor as the hosts opened up a 7-2 lead after two innings. Four more runs scored in the fourth off a grand slam by Brenna Lanser and Grand View ended the game with a RBI double in the sixth by Lindsey Lange.Â
Samantha Ubben (3-4) pitched all 5.1 innings and gave up 10 hits and 12 runs, four earned. She struck out four.

Jordyn Kramer added two hits while five others had one hit each.Â
