Nicholas Evans (
Stewartsville, Mo.) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next year.
Evans is a 6'0", 205-pound linebacker and running back who had a standout four-year career playing for Maysville High School. Evans rushed for 720 yards, averaging nearly five yards per carry, and totaled 93 tackles and 2.5 quarterback sacks in earning first team all-conference honors on both offense and defense as a senior. He was named both all-state (linebacker) and a Blue-Grey All-American. Evans was a second team all-conference selection at linebacker and honorable mention pick as a sophomore. A member of the National Honor Society and academic all-conference selection, Evans plans to major in Athletic Training at Northwestern. He is the son of Shannon and Tracy.
"Nick is a tremendous playmaker at linebacker," said Northwestern head coach
Matt McCarty. "He is a gifted athlete and good tackler who will be a great fit on our defensive scheme. We look forward to working with Nick over the next four years."
