Andrew Mescher (
Monticello, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwestern College beginning next fall.
Mescher is a 6'0" infielder/pitcher for the Monticello High School baseball team. Mescher is heading into his fourth and final season this summer as a varsity contributor. Mescher hit .338 with 14 RBIs and 25 runs scored. On the mound Mescher threw 41 1/3 innings, while striking out 32 hitters, only allowing 30 hits, and six earned runs leading to a 1.02 ERA. Mescher was a first team all-conference and all-district selection. Also, an academic all-conference selection, Mescher plans to major in business at Northwestern. He is the son of Drew and Tara Mescher.
 "Andrew is a super athletic infielder/pitcher that has the ability to influence a game in a lot of different ways,"said head coach
Brian Wede. "He will be a great addition to our program next season and we are really looking forward to seeing how he makes the transition from high school to college."
