Morningside Mustangs: Head Coach: Brian Drent (6th year)

The Mustangs are currently in third place, one game behind Midland and Concordia for first place in the GPAC standings with four games remaining.

Offensively, Morningside is led by Jacob Lamoreux who has a team high 0.376 batting average, 47 runs scored, and eight stolen bases. Nate DeChaine (0.364) leads the team with 55 RBI, and 12 home runs. Blake Rogers (0.367) has connected for a team best 14 doubles. Nolan Hoff (0.361) is the team leader in walks with 35. As a team, Morningside is hitting 0.315 and has scored 349 runs in 49 games.

On the mound, Morningside is paced by Lucas Henning (6-3, 3.99 ERA). Henning leads the team in innings (58.2) and wins (6). Richard Mitchell (5-2, 3.81 ERA) is second on the team in both wins and innings (56.2). Jordan Barr (3-1, 8 saves, 2.42) serves as the team's closer. The Mustang pitching staff has a team ERA of 4.63.

Northwestern College: Head Coach: Brian Wede (11th year)

Northwestern is led offensively by Dustin Gaither (0.327). Gaither, Casey Guthmiller (0.321), AJ Nitzschke (0.316), and Reed Smith (0.305) are the Raiders north of 0.300, as the team is hitting 0.284. Nitzschke, Michael Callahan, and Matt Martin lead the team with nine doubles each. Nitzschke has scored a team best 34 runs. Callahan has a team best 28 RBI and Martin leads the team with six home runs. 

The pitching staff is led by Isaac Horigan (6-3, 3.20 ERA). Horigan leads NWC in wins and innings (64.2). Alec Rickabaugh (4-1, 4.24 ERA) is second on the team in wins. Raphael DeHoyos is 2-6 in nine starts, he leads the team with 61 strikeouts. The Raider pitching staff has a 6.43 ERA this season.

Following this weekend the top eight seeds will move on to the GPAC Tournament to be hosted by the top two seeds with the #1, #4, #5, #8 seeds at one site and the #2, #3, #6, #7 seeds at the other. Each four team bracket winner will meet on Tuesday May 9th for the GPAC Championship. The GPAC's regular season champion and tournament champion each earn a bid to the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round.
