Red Raiders Drop Match to College of Saint Benedict

Northwestern College picked up wins at No. 1 and No.2 singles but lost to College of Saint Benedict 6-3 in a non-conference match-up played in St. Joseph, Minn.

Both Yemisi Ayeni and Zoe Holscher earned their third singles win of the season, picking up victories in the top two spots. Ayeni (3-1) needed a third set but came back to defeat Laura Finn 6-3, 1-6 and 10-7. Holscher knocked offf Erin Kolbow in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-2. 

Northwestern picked up a win at No. 2 doubles as Kendra McGinnis and Emma Van Drie remain unbeaten (3-0) with an 8-5 win over Erin Kolbow and Taylor Kraemer. 

Singles: 

1. Yemisi Ayeni (3-1) def. Laura Finn (5-3), 6-3, 1-6, 10-7
2. Zoe Holscher (3-1) def. Erin Kolbow (2-6), 6-4, 6-2

3. Kendra McGinnis (2-2) lost to Ellen Stensrud (7-1), 6-4, 6-2
4. McKayla Johnson (0-3) lost to Taylor Kraemer (1-4), 6-3, 3-6, 10-5
5. Emma Van Drie (1-2) lost to Lauren Clark (6-2), 3-6, 7-5, 10-4
6. Kelly Shortenhaus (1-3) lost to Gabbie Noack (2-0), 7-5, 7-6 (7-5)

Doubles:
1.Ayeni/Holscher (2-2)  lost to Finn/Stensrud (2-0), 9-7
2.McGinnis/Van Drie (3-0) def. Kolbow/Kraemer (2-2), 8-5
3.Johnson/Shortenhaus (1-1) lost to Clark/Noack (1-0), 8-2
