Red Raiders End Season with 5-2 Loss at CSM

OMAHA, Neb. – Northwestern fell to College of Saint Mary 5-2 in Saturday's season finale. The Red Raiders captured singles victories at the No. 2 and No. 6 positions.

Northwestern dropped the doubles point as the Flames swept all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Callista Uchil and Noel Moreno defeated Matilde Di Martino and Pietra Ferreira, 6-1. Iyaanah Pardiwalla and Carolyna Truong secured the point for CSM at No. 3 doubles with a 6-2 victory over Alloree Else and Hannah Beckloff. Finally, at No. 2 doubles, Abrianna Reynosa and Yana Gupta completed the sweep by defeating Madalyn Kolb and Bryn Higginbotham, 6-3.

In singles play, Pardiwalla extended the lead for the Flames with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Else at No. 3 singles. Gupta added another point, defeating Kolb 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. The Raiders responded as Ferreira claimed a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Moreno at No. 2 singles, putting the Red Raiders on the scoreboard. However, Uchil secured the overall win for CSM by overcoming Di Martino 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

The Flames added another point at No. 5 singles when Truong edged Higginbotham in a match tiebreak, 6-4, 5-7, 10-5. Beckloff earned the Raiders' second point with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Darece Van Auken at No. 6 singles, finalizing the overall score at 5-2 in favor of CSM.
