Women's Basketball Set To Play Morningside Wednesday Night

Game Time...It's a match-up between ranked teams as No.15 Northwestern College heads to Sioux City, Iowa, to play No.10 Morningside in conference play Wednesday night, Nov. 29. Tip-off at the Rosen Verdoorn Gym is set for 6pm. Both teams are unbeaten in GPAC play with the Red Raiders at 2-0, 5-3 overall, and Morningside coming into Wednesday night's game at 3-0 in the GPAC, 8-2 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern trails the all-time series 30-46 and is 4-6 over the last 10 games against Morningside. The teams split last year with both teams winning on the road.

    No.10 Morningside College: 3-0 (GPAC), 8-2 overall

    The Mustangs have won six consecutive games since losing to then-No.2 Saint Xavier (Ill.) at home, 83-75. Morningside has since defeated Bellevue (Neb.), Kansas Wesleyan and Buena Vista in non-conference play to go with victories over Mount Marty, College of Saint Mary and Doane in the GPAC. Their other loss is to then-NO.6 College of the Ozarks (Mo.) in the first game of the year.

   Coach Sale, now in his 17th season on the Mustangs' bench, has won four NAIA D-II Championships and is the all-time winningest coach in program history, owning  a 79% win percentage. He is 444-116 all-time at Morningside and 14 20+ win seasons. Sale returns two starters and seven players from a 2016-17 team that finished 24-9, losing in the second round on the NAIA Championship to C. of Ozarks.
