High School: played four years for West Monona; received first team all-conference recognition; hit .484 with 12 RBIs; named all state as a sophomore; an Omaha World Herald all-western Iowa pick two years; earned first team all-conference as a sophomore; holds school record for sacrifices in a career (23), sacrifices in a season (10) and fielding percentage (92%); member of the National Honor Society; member of the Academic All-State team.
